The Director, Theatre Systems effectively supervises the activities of the Theatre Support Manager and Theatre Support Analysts working on IT-related guest problems that minimize system down time. You will implement, document and provide technology solutions, including any required resources to the Theatre Services (Help Desk). You will also maintain the IT relationship with the Operations team, including all point-of-service projects and support. Additionally, this position will have supervisory responsibility for two project managers. What does all this mean? Let's break it down into your soon-to-be responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage key initiatives and multiple projects, including the point-of-service project.
  • Manage day-to-day contact and activities involving vendor relations in a professional manner escalating to the CIO as required.
  • Determine and recommend technical solutions to business problems that are cost effective.
  • Learn the end-user’s "business" to a certain extent in order to provide technical guidance and /or recommendations.
  • Provide technical and motivational direction to the Help Desk team.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of transactions for G&A and capital expenditures, budget analysis of variances and explanations, budget structure recommendations.

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer related technologies or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of the theory and architectures for software development and logical troubleshooting.
  • Solid planning, writing and communicating skills are required to maintain project status reports and communications plans with vendors, teams and business units.
  • Telecommunications and project management training.
  • Business management certifications or equivalent.
  • Three years of theatre or other retail support experience.
  • Five years experience in retail environments with extensive knowledge of point-of-service applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Word and Excel and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Five years of experience in support of operating systems/hardware/communications/network (Win 95, 98, NT; XP; ENET LAN; Frame Relay WAN).
  • 10 years support environment experience and management experience.
  • Six years multiple discipline project management experience and telecom/network environment experience.
  • Provide management for thorough support to theatre guests within predefined service level agreements.
  • Ensures that all team members' effective expectations against policy and bases trouble ticket decisions upon this comparison.
  • Conducts evaluations of new technology in regards to the table of equipment and software currently supported by our group.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in project management and tracking in areas such as: planning, correspondence and execution strategy of software implementations, logical equipment upgrades and providing status' and metrics to the key business stakeholders.
  • Fiscal responsibility for infrastructure budget to supply appropriate computers and related tools to theatre associates.
  • Regular vendor contact, management and negotiations are handled and well documented.
  • Ability to make key decisions pertaining to theatre systems and service process.
  • Basic understanding of database.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities
