Community Involvement
All of us at AMC Entertainment® are dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities we serve and beyond. For almost 90 years, we have fostered a long-standing tradition of citizenship and volunteerism. We take pride in the opportunity to share our resources with many worthy and notable causes and join together our approximately 20,000 associates to support volunteer efforts.
National Charitable Partnerships
Our company focuses our charitable efforts where we can achieve the greatest impact. We are proud to collaborate on a national level with three charitable organizations: Autism Society of America (ASA), Variety – The Children’s Charity and the Will Rogers Institute.
In partnership with the ASA we bring “AMC Sensory Friendly Films” to families affected by autism on a monthly basis to many communities. The program provides a special opportunity for families to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. In fact, our dedicated auditoriums have their lights slightly up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing! For more information about the program, click here.
Variety – The Children’s Charity is a national organization devoted to providing real, tangible assistance to disabled and disadvantaged children. With a seven-decade legacy of caring for children across the globe, Variety – The Children’s Charity has become the largest and most effective children’s charity in the world. The organization has grown to 51 chapters in 13 countries, raising money to assist in the treatment and care for these children in need. Founded in 1935, the Will Rogers Institute is a national health organization dedicated to the support of lung research and the development of new treatments and cures for pulmonary diseases and disorders. AMC is a long-time charitable supporter of the foundation and its work, which funds four acclaimed research hospitals and twenty fellowships across the U.S. through their summer theatre campaigns. Located in Los Angeles, the Institute is making strides every day in understanding, treating and curing lung diseases and disorders. Hometown Pride
AMC is committed to the support and development of our hometown, Kansas City, Missouri. Our company continues to be an active, contributing member of the community by supporting local programs that advance our Mission as well as donating our time, facilities and resources to the growth and betterment of Kansas City.
We are proud to be an active and contributing member to many charitable organizations not only in Kansas City but also in the many communities we serve.
Movie Passes
We receive numerous requests for free movie passes and other donations for charitable purposes and requests for event sponsorships. We allocate all of our available donations dollars and movie passes toward pre-determined strategic national partnerships such as the Autism Society of America, Variety – The Children’s Charity and the Will Rogers Institute.
We believe this is the most effective use of our pass program, and therefore we are unable to fulfill any additional pass requests.
